Elegant mix of red and earthy colors, blue, pink green and white

Superb antique kilim in natural colors, hand-woven before 1900. The origin is not certain but the weaving is kurdish (which does not provide pure geographical indications). The weave is very fine, and the design is absolutely stunning, with great creativity and detail. It features two inscriptions in the middle of the field, one of which perhaps gives the year of production: 1301 in the Hegira Arab calendar, which would correspond to 1883 in our Gregorian-Julian calendar. Sturdy and fine at the same time.
