Semi antique Tsukdruk, Tibetan Rug

A brown/black field with a red border and a mix of red, white, turquoise, green and purple motifs.

Woven on a hand loom by nomads inhabiting the pastures of the Himalayan mountains. It takes the form of 3 narrow strips which are then assembled and sewn together. Tsukdruk rugs were originally used as blankets, as they are extremely soft. Here, the brown/black background is adorned with various geometric patterns giving it the playful look of a modern work of art.
